Why there is no one-size-fits-all price
Every kitchen is different. Two kitchens that look the same size can have a very different number of doors, drawers and details. That is why a reliable quote always starts with seeing the cabinets in person.
The 6 factors that drive the price
- Number of doors and drawer fronts. This is the biggest factor, since each piece is prepped, primed and sprayed on both sides.
- Cabinet boxes and extras: islands, pantry cabinets, crown molding, panels and bathroom vanities.
- Condition: grease build-up, damage or old peeling finishes need extra prep and repair.
- Wood type and grain: open-grain oak or knotty pine may need extra steps for a smooth finish.
- Colors: a single color is simpler than a two-tone kitchen, and big color changes may need more coats.
- Add-ons: new hardware, door replacement or filling old hardware holes.
Why cheap quotes often cost more
The lowest price usually means skipped preparation, brush-and-roll application or a primer that is not designed for cabinets. Those shortcuts are why some painted cabinets chip and peel within months, and redoing a failed paint job costs more than doing it right the first time.
How to get an accurate quote
Ask for a free in-home estimate and make sure the quote is written and itemized. It should spell out the prep, primer, number of coats, application method (spray vs. brush) and warranty. At Fine Finish Cabinets, every quote includes our ProFinish Method™ and a 2-year warranty against cracking or peeling.
