Our process
The ProFinish Method™: how we paint cabinets
A lasting, factory-like finish is the sum of many careful steps. Here is exactly how we approach every cabinet painting project.
Step by step
The 6 steps of every cabinet painting project
Total home protection
Floors, countertops, appliances and surrounding areas are covered and sealed off before any work begins.
Precision prep
Doors and drawers are removed and labeled. Every surface is cleaned, degreased and sanded with dust-extracting sanders.
Bonding, color-matched primer
A high-adhesion primer matched to your color creates a durable, consistent base.
Spray-applied finish
Doors are sprayed in a dedicated station in your garage and boxes are finished in place, for a smooth, factory-like look with no brush marks.
Protective topcoat
A tough protective finish helps your cabinets stand up to everyday kitchen use.
Reassembly & walkthrough
Doors and drawers are reinstalled and aligned, and we review every detail with you before we call it done.
What to expect
Living in your home during the project
- Before we start: empty your drawers and clear the countertops. Inside the cabinet boxes, leave about 1 inch clear along the front edges.
- Every day: your refrigerator and microwave are freed up for use at the end of each work day.
- Doors: painted on-site in a dedicated spray station set up in your garage.
- Timeline: most kitchens are finished in up to 5 days.
- Aftercare: clean only with a soft cloth, water and mild soap. No other products.
- Warranty: 2 years against cracking or peeling. The finish typically lasts 8–12 years.

FAQ
Process questions
How long does cabinet painting take?
With our ProFinish Method™, most kitchens are completed in up to 5 days. Your refrigerator and microwave are freed up for use at the end of every work day, so you can keep living in your home.
Will painted cabinets chip or peel?
Peeling almost always comes from poor preparation. We deep-clean, degrease and sand every surface, use a bonding primer and finish with a protective topcoat. That is why we back our work with a 2-year warranty against cracking or peeling.
Do I need to move out or stop using my kitchen?
No. We protect your home and free up your refrigerator and microwave at the end of every work day, so you can keep living normally.
Is painting or refinishing cabinets worth it compared to replacing them?
If your cabinet boxes are solid, yes. Painting keeps your existing layout and countertops and gives you a brand-new look for much less money, time and mess than a remodel.
Where do you paint the cabinet doors?
Doors and drawer fronts are painted on-site in a dedicated spray station we set up in your garage. Nothing leaves your property, and the spray finish gives a smooth, factory-like result without brush marks.
How do I prepare my kitchen?
Just empty the drawers and clear the countertops. Inside the cabinet boxes, leave about 1 inch clear along the front edges so we can protect your belongings. We take care of everything else, including covering floors, countertops and appliances.
